The sculpted rocker design comes directly from my apprenticeship with Elam Sharpe in 1975 in Northern California. Elam, a World War 1 blacksmith and self taught furniture maker showed me techniques in wood bending and joinery that has proven to be a wealth of knowledge in my career making fine furniture here in Hawaii. His teachings were not only technical applications but a philosophy of work ethics that you can feel when rocking in this chair. The back slats are steam bent to give ultimate comfort.
The back legs are bent to give a graceful flair to the back. Uniqueness, comfort, exquisite craftsmanship all in one.
